Helen Golat

Helen Golat, age 93, of Lowell, IN, passed away peacefully, at her residence, of natural causes on Sunday, January 24 2021. Helen was born in Cleveland, Ohio and she moved with her family to Conrath, Rusk County, Wis. in 1928, where she was raised and was married. She then lived in Midlothian, IL for 30 years and Lowell, IN for 32 years.

Beloved wife of the late Walter Golat. Loving mother of Theodore (late Janice) Golat, Elaine (Frank) Fortini, and Eileen (Brian) Anderson. Cherished grandmother of nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Anna Zeman-Wojciuch, and siblings; Fred, Cecilia Andres, Henry, Alex and Raymond.  Helen was known for her pie baking abilities and seasonal horseradish. She enjoyed traveling and managed to visit 49 states and many Canadian Provinces. Helen was loved and cherished by many and will be missed dearly.

Private family visitation and service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL. Interment Evergreen Hill Cemetery – Steger, IL.
