Henrietta Ippel, nee Couwenhoven, age 100, of De Motte, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Cornelius Ippel. Loving mother of Diane (late Rodney) Iwema and Sharon (Randall) Boonstra. Dear grandmother of five grandchildren: Kent (Sherri) Iwema, Cheryl(Eric) Dorobek, Darrell Iwema, Robert Boonstra and Renee VanKley; fourteen great-grandchildren: Kaleen, Connor, and Cole Iwema, Jessica and Joshua Dorobek, Ashley, Ariel, Kaitlin, Aubrey, and Chase Boonstra, Joshua, Jacob, Hannah, and Sara VanKley, and one great-great grandchild: Jamie Manns. Dear sister of Goldie(late Charles) Garmany, the late Dorothy (late Albert) Swart, late Eleanor (Joseph) Piunti, Lauretta (Peter) Zandstra, and the late Richard(late Nellie) Couwenhoven. She was also preceded in death by her parents: Simon and Maude Couwenhovern. Visitation Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10:00 a.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St.(Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL with services conducted by Rev. John Vermeer. Interment Homewood Memorial Gardens - Homewood, IL. Mrs. Ippel was a member of Oak Glen United Reformed Church and was a member of the former Bethany Covenant Reformed Church in South Holland. She had been a licensed Practical Nurse at Rest Haven Central in Palos Heights, IL and a Nurse''s Assistant at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL. Among her many interests, she enjoyed quilting and gardening. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, 221 W.
