Barthel Henry K. Barthel Sr., age 76 of Steger, IL, passed away November 16, 2010. Beloved husband of Rae Ann Barthel nee Govert. Loving father of Karl (Julie) Barthel, Marie (Frank) Dhom, Kathy (Scott) Line, Heidi (Jerry Roe) Roth, Henry (Kim) Barthel Jr., and step father of Rhonda (Clark) Yates and Billy (Jodie) Abel. Cherished grandfather of twenty five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his first wife Norma Barthel, his parents, three brothers and one sister. Visitation Saturday November 20th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Homes - Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, IL.). Funeral Service Sunday 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Henry was the owner/operator of Pearsons Bakery in Chicago Heights and Bradley. He was also the former owner of Barthels Pastry Shop in Momence.
