Henry P. Cabala, age 78, of Dyer, IN formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 4, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. Cabala nee Chorich. Loving father of Tami (Rick) Hafner, Tina (John M.D.) Greager, and Tara (Glenn) Minyard. Proud grandpa of Amanda, Grace, Marc, Allison, Jacqueline, John, Jake, Luke, and Abigail. Dear brother John (Kathy) Cabala M.D., Jeanne (Jim) Montella, Anthony Cabala, the late Mary (late George M.D.) Panczyszyn, and the late Sonia Bogdan. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Genevieve Cabala. Visitation Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Prayer service Monday, February 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN46311to Our Lady of Knock Church (501 E. 163rd St. Calumet City, IL 60409) for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Patrick Lyons officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery - Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Dyer VFW Post #6448 (2521 Gettler St. Dyer, IN 46311) where Henry was a longtime member.
