Henry Jongsma, age 95, of Lansing, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Mildred Jongsma, nee Schmidt. Devoted father of Allen (Patricia) Jongsma and the late Mae Lynn Rodgers. Proud grandfather of Brenda Sue Jongsma, Melanie Jongsma, Kenneth (Rebecca) Jongsma, Sally (Steve) Blom, Karin Vredeveld, Owen (Linda) Deckinga, and Shaun Deckinga. Loving great-grandfather of eleven. Dear brother of Jessie (late Chester) Zeilstra, late Anna (late Pete) Doorn, late Richard (late Sophie) Jongsma, and late Arthur (late Mae) Jongsma. Former father-in-law of Owen Deckinga Sr. Visitation Sunday, December 8, 2013, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service Monday, December 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Glen United Reformed Church (2244 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL) with Rev. John Vermeer officiating. Burial will be held prior to the service, leaving from Smits Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. to Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens - Schererville, IN.
