Herbert Deyoung

Herbert DeYoung, age 71, of Oro Valley, AZ, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Herb was an avid fisherman and active member of the South Holland community. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball, filming events for the Village of South Holland, and spending time with family. Beloved husband of Peggy, nee Scholl. Loving father of Kimberly(Jeff) Opem, Jonathan (Stephanie) DeYoung and step-father of Michael Modra Jr. Devoted grandfather of Coral, Pearl, Daniel, Duncan, and Cody. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Herb was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Scott DeYoung, his parents Marvin and Julia DeYoung and his sister Arlene Rietveld. Visitation Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 2:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL. Funeral Service Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Waterstone officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL.
