Herman Woldhuis, age 74, of Chicago Heights, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 14, 2017. Beloved husband of Colleen Woldhuis, nee Flynn. Devoted father of James Woldhuis, John Woldhuis, Vicki (Tim) VanderLaan, and Thomas Woldhuis. Proud grandfather of Cayla, Lydia, Jacob, and Adeline. Dear brother of Emily (late Wayne) Walstra, Betts (late Stan) Dykstra, late Sue (late Bob) Kulovitz, Jean (Jon) Ludtke, Joe (Sharon) Woldhuis, Case (Cheryl) Woldhuis, and the late Elly (Ronald) Peterson. Preceded in death by his parents Albert and Jean Woldhuis. Visitation Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3:00 - 8:00 p. m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Ln. (Rt.30& Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Munster Christian Reformed Church (214 Ridge Rd. Munster, IN 46321 with Rev. Jeff Bulthuis and Rev. Herman Schutt officiating. Private burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens – Schererville, IN.
