Howard M. Wilkening, age 92, of Russellville, Arkansas, formerly of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017. Beloved husband of Loretta Wilkening (nee Howe) for 62 years. Loving father of Cathy (Jim) Taylor, of Russellville, AR, Cindy (Rich) Berki, of Liberty, MO., Sue (Brian) Souza, of Auburn, AL, and Laura (Jerry) Mulvihill, of Alsip, IL. Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Dear brother of Dolores (Glen) Stoner, of Manteno, IL, Fern (Fred) Hoffmeyer, Beecher, IL., and the late Wesley Wilkening. Howard was born on July 30th,1924 in Beecher, IL and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church. He worked as a tile-setter for Cipolla-Zerante for 35 years. Visitation, Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00-7:00 P.M. at the Smits Funeral Homes-Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, IL.). Funeral Monday 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 1407 W Church Rd, Beecher, IL.
