Ida De Jong

Ida De Jong, nee De Boer, age 87, of Lansing, IL, went home to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 22, 2021.  Beloved wife of the late Richard De Jong.  Loving mother of Gordon (Barb) De Jong, Deborah (Paul) Lindemulder, David (Debra) De Jong, Donna (John) Fisher, Doreen (Steve) Beezhold, and Duane (Gloria) De Jong.  Proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of the late Dr. Henry (Mildred) De Boer.  Aunt of several nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents Rinze and Dora De Boer and great-grandson Isaac Luttjeboer.

Ida lived out her faith in Jesus Christ by diligently serving her husband and family through her homemaking, cooking, steadfast love and prayers.  She modeled courage and quiet strength and offered encouragement to many with her patient listening, wise words, and acts of kindness.  “Her children arise and call her blessed.”  Proverbs 31:28a

Visitation Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Rd. Lansing, IL (enter through the west doors). Funeral service Monday, July 26, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Oak Glen United Reformed Church, 2244 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL with Rev.
