Irene H. Dekker, nee Bruinsma, age 99, of Dyer, IN, formerly of Lansing, IL, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Arnold Dekker. Loving mother of the late Lewis (Lorilee) Dekker, the late Dale Dekker, late Arnold Wayne (late Halina) Dekker and Dave (Brenda) Dekker. Proud grandmother of 12; great-grandmother of 22. Preceded in death by her four brothers, late Wilbur (late Dorothy), late Raymond (late Tena), late Edward (late Marge) and the late Lewis (Phyllis) Bruinsma. Kind aunt of several nieces and nephews. Irene was loved and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Monday, August 24, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN, with services conducted by Rev.
