Irene E. Kobus

Irene E. Kobus, nee Nagy, age 92, of Lansing, IL, formerly of South Chicago, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2022.  Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Raymond J. Kobus, Sr.  Most loving mother of Kathleen Boller, Janice Sausman, and the late Raymond (Carol) Kobus, Jr.  Cherished grandmother of Rachel (Brian) Majestic, Amanda Boller, Craig (Cassie Petoskey) Boller, Elizabeth (Jeff) Koenig, Rebecca (Lee) Simpson, Caitlin (Mike) Adler, Raymond Kobus III, Alyssa (Garrett) Dobbs, and Sarah (Kevin) Keesler; great-grandmother of Fiona Majestic, Parker Boller, Hannah, Emily and Collin Koenig, Phoebe and Chloe Simpson, Benjamin, Caroline and Evie Adler, Alexandra and Addison Dobbs.   Dear sister of Sharlene (Phillip) Lundy, late Steven (late Jean) Nagy, and the late Eugene (late Phyllis) Nagy.  Kind aunt of 47 nieces and nephews.

Irene worked at Marshall Fields in their cash office and at Salem Cross Apartments in Lansing, IL, as their assistant manager for numerous years.  She enjoyed knitting, reading, and playing board games with family and friends.  Irene welcomed everyone to her home at anytime and loved it.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, and doting on everyone who visited.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN, with Rev.
