Jack C. Swan, age 76, of Thornton, IL passed away Monday, October 30, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Peggy A. Swan nee Connor. Devoted father of James (Tammie) Swan, Penny (Dan) Kukulski and Jackie (Joe) Petrelli. Proud papa of Paige (Ryan) Wories, Hayley (Dave) Jabaay, Dallas (Zach) Zylstra, Amanda (Dan) Vasilak, Adam (Laura) Kukulski, Austin Kukulski, Jenna (fiancé Steven Barber) Petrelli, and Joey Petrelli and great-papa of Oliver Wories and Asher Vasilak. Dear brother of Don (Denia) Swan. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Evelyn Swan. Longtime friend of Sally Schultz. Funeral service Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church (508 Chicago Rd. Thornton, IL 60476) with Rev. Harold Wahl officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL. Jack was the mayor of Thornton for 20 years and served with the Thornton Fire Department starting in 1968, serving as Fire Chief for several years as well.
