Beloved husband of Jane Boer and the late Jeannine Boer (nee Hoekstra); dear father of Debbi Smits and Dan (Cindy) Boer; loving grandfather of Brandi, Bree (Derrick) Beezhold, Brooke (Tim) Miltzow, Sophie Boer and Molly Boer and great-grandfather of Lydia Beezhold; fond brother of the late Pete (Betti(Rev. Mel) DeVries) Boer, Alice (late Mel) Kampe, Grace (Ed) Douma, Dorie (late Rudy) Norman, Lois (Russ) Reidenga, and Henry (Sharon) Boer. Visitation Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Community Church, 16341 South Park Ave., South Holland, IL with Rev. Alfonzo Surrett officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery - Lansing, IL. Mr. Boer was a retired Teamster Local #786 truck driver from Thornton Cartage and Van's Fuel and Material, and a Korean War Army Veteran.
