James M. Grzan Sr., age 59, suddenly, of East Hazel Crest, IL, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017. Beloved husband of Cindy J. Grzan, nee Patterson. Devoted father of James Jr. (Lu), Justin, Jake, and Jason Grzan. Proud grandfather of Zoey and Kayla. Preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Marie Grzan. Mr. James M. Grzan Sr: Born March 23, 1958-July 21, 2017: Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle. James was a great man. He was a great Husband, Father, Grandfather and Uncle. James was a strong hard-working man, having served 25 years on the East Hazel Crest Fire Department and another 26 years as an electrician. When he wasn’t working he loved to relax alongside the people he loved and cared for. Whether it was watching old John Wayne movies with his grandchildren, cooking his favorite meals, or simply just spending time with his family. He was always being silly and making jokes. He got a kick out of playing pranks on people. He had such a big heart and loved making people laugh. He was always there for us when we needed help or advice. Just a very great and caring person in general. James was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and help you out whenever he could, a truly wonderful man. He believed that if you’re going to do something do it right or don’t do it at all. He took great pride in everything he did, something he passed on to his family. He raised 4 strong men; Jimmy, Justin, Jake and Jason. Each strong in their own way, yet tender and all heart. Strong enough to get things done and help-out wherever they are needed. Strong enough to be truthful, by telling it like it is no matter who you are. Truly awesome and inspiring men. Your Dad was very proud of the men you have become and he loved you all very much. He believed in real, honest relationships and kept those relationships close to his heart. He knew that life was a gift and he didn't want to take anyone or anything for granted. He made the most of what he had and made a great life with his wonderful wife Cindy and created a strong family. A family that loves him dearly. Even though you are no longer here with us, there is and will always be great love here for you. Private Services
