James W Guritz

GURITZ James W. Guritz of Thornton, IL passed away on Friday, August 28, 2009 at the age of 83. He was married 61 years to his wonderful wife, Jeanne Young Guritz, He is survived by Jeanne, his two children, Jody(Michael) Ogle and Jami(Daniel) Pillasch; and three grandchildren, Jade Ogle, Conor Pillasch and Carson Pillasch. He also has one surviving brother, David(Elizabeth) Guritz. Jim led a very active and athletic life, competing in and coaching sports. He was an Air Force Veteran, American Legion member, a Shriner and a Thornton library trustee. He retired from Kennedy-King College after 40 years of teaching. After retirement, he found his second love (after Jeanne) " sailing. He could be found out on Lake Michigan every day enjoying his sailboat, Starpath.
