James “Jim” F. Hines, age 59, of Chicago, IL, passed away January 20, 2017 in Naples, Florida, surrounded by his wife, daughter, mother and siblings. Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Earl (Doc) Hines, and Nancy (Edwards) Hines. He attended Carl Sandburg High School, then Wabash College (1979). He worked for Merrill Lynch for 31 years and most recently for UBS for eight years, as a securities broker. He received many industry awards over the years, but was most proud of one, The Only Man in His 40's to Still Have His First Holy Communion Money. Jim adored golfing, the stock market, his friends, laughter and figuring out creative ways to make/save a buck. His greatest joy in life was his two children. He is survived by his wife, Barbie (Swanson), his son, Jimmy, 14, his daughter, Reagan, 11, his mother, Nancy (Edwards) Hines, his father in law, Thomas Swanson, his mother in law, Margaret (Mildice) Swanson, his brothers, Thomas (Rose) Hines and John (Pam) Hines, his sister, Jane (George) Kopp, his sisters in law, Susan (David) Gozdecki, Amy (John) Curran, his nieces and nephews, Sally (Jenn Watts) Hines, Liz (Justin) McMath, Michael Hines, Leo Gozdecki, TC Hines, Morgan Gozdecki, Lucas Hines, Hayley Curran, Jack Curran, Danny Curran, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Charlie (Heidi) Hines and his father, Earl (Doc) Hines.
