James E. Huizenga, age 52, suddenly, late of Indianapolis, formerly of Schererville, IN, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. Father of Holly (Jordan) Westerhoff, Heather Huizenga, and Haley Huizenga. Loving son of Tena (late Keith) Pleoger, nee Niehof and the late Orien Huizenga. Brother of Michael Huizenga, Pam (Dave) Van Zyl, and Julie (Mike) Kieft. Former husband of Cheryl VanDrunen Tiemens. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311, with Rev. Richard Grevengoed officiating. Private Interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions c/o The Huizenga Family appreciated.
