James L. Martin "Jim", age 93, of Lansing, IL, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Dolores Martin, nee Behn. Loving father of Janice (Don) Gianoli, Liane (Jerry) Koster, and Jim Martin (Laura). Cherished grandfather of 7, Tracie (Eric) Keene, Dan (Jennifer) Gianoli, Carrie (Mike) Licina, Karlie (Tom) Dziadon, Kyle (Becky) Koster, Jenna (Jake) Camalick, and Devan Martin (Jake Mitchell). Dear great-grandfather of 15, Taylor, Shaina, Danny, Michael, Jonathan, Anthony, Austin, Landon, Trenton, Brooklyn, Emerson, Alexis, Ryder, Maeve, and Jett. Great-great-grandfather of Zayne and Grayson with two more great-great grandsons on the way. Dear uncle of Greg (Peggy) Johnson, and Jeff (Jackie) Johnson. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Carrie Martin, nee Foote, sister, Marilyn (late Norman) Johnson, nee Martin.

Jim was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran. Retired from Hostess Cake with 32 years. Strong in his faith in God. The best example in life, for all of his loved ones. Known for his amazing sense of humor and gift of storytelling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation Friday, August 14, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. directly at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave, Lansing, IL with Rev. Ryan Reese officiating. Interment Concordia Cemetery—Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
