James "Jim" Wojcikiewicz

James “Woj” Wojcikiewicz, age 76, of Crete, Illinois passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2022. Beloved husband to Shirley “Barb” Wojcikiewicz, nee Vance. Loving father to James (Heather) Wojcikiewicz, Daniel (Stephanie) Wojcikiewicz, Joseph (Chrissy) Wojcikiewicz and Michael Wojcikiewicz. Cherished grandfather to Kate, Isaac, Kelly, Kaci, Abraham, Krista, Josie and James. Dear brother of Susan (Thomas) Kontel. Caring uncle of Melissa Kontel. James was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Jim was an active member of the community; coaching his sons’ athletic teams, presiding on the village library board, refereeing high school football, and serving as a Knight of Columbus. He never missed one of his sons’ high school football games. Jim will be greatly missed by all who had the joy to know and love him. Visitation will be held Monday August 29, 2022 at Steger Memorial Chapel (3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL) from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Final visitation will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church (22400 Torrence Ave, Sauk Village, IL) at 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery (801 Michigan City Rd, Calumet City, IL). In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. James Pantry, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
