James P. Medendorp Sr., age 79, of Cedar Lake, IN went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 8, 2014. Beloved husband of Shirl, nee Brink. Loving father of James P. (Debbie), David (Ellen), Timothy (Cheryl) and Joel (Karen) Medendorp. Devoted grandfather of seven. Dear brother of J.R. (Carolyn) and the late Morris (Ria) Medendorp. Visitation Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Friday, September 12, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Crete Reformed Church (24755 S. Country Lane, Crete, IL 60417) with services conducted by Rev. David Smith. Interment private. Pastor Jim served churches in Michigan, South Dakota, Illinois, Iowa and Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be given to Cedar Lake Ministries (13701 Lauerman St., Cedar Lake, IN 46303) or Crete Reformed Church.
