James Peter Nykaza

James P. Nykaza, age 80, of Steger, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 3, 2024. Beloved father of James Nykaza Jr., Lori Oswald, late Jason Nykaza and stepfather of Steve Zarrella. Cherished grandfather of Dominick Camilleri, Khloe Oswald, and Silas Oswald. Dear father-in-law of Frank Camilleri. Loving brother of Walter (Gerry) Nykaza. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; Nick and Julia Nykaza; siblings, Leola (Edward) Pavlik, Dorothy (John) Kish, Lorraine (Ted) Kozlowski, Leo (Stella) Nykaza, Edward (Betty) Nykaza, John Nykaza, Raymond (Edna) Nykaza, Henry (Delores) Nykaza, and Eugene (Marie) Nykaza. James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation to be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits – Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd., Steger, Illinois 60475. Funeral Mass Saturday, November 9, 2024 St. Liborius Church 71 W 35th St, Steger, IL 60475. Interment Calvary Cemetery – Steger, IL.
