Janet Snowdy

Janet Snowdy, nee Gowens, age 52, of South Holland, IL passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields after complications from a stroke. Janet is survived by her husband William Snowdy; brother Robert W. (Juliana) Gowens; sister Lisa (Bill) Maxey. Also survived by her mother-in-law Marie Jones and Michael Miller; three nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her father Dean and mother Lucille Gowens. Janet grew up in Thornton, attended Wolcott School, graduated Thornwood Class of 1982 and studied at SSC. Janet was a compassionate caregiver at Rest Haven, Franciscan Alliance, and other home health providers. Janet enjoyed reading, movies, her pets, and spending time with family. She provided loving care to her Aunt Gail Eylander as she passed into God's kingdom. She will be missed greatly. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5:00-7:30 pm at Smits DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. South Holland.
