Janice G. Morris, nee Polizzotto, age 81, of Crete, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Dearly devoted wife of 63 years to Martin Morris Jr. Loving mother of Charles (Cathy) Morris, Jon Morris, and James Morris. Cherished Nona of Megan (Trevor) Miller, Michael Morris, and Annie (Matt) Harmon. Great-grandmother of two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by three brothers and her parents, Gino and Carmela Polizzotto. Janice was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Jan and Marty married on June 29, 1957 after meeting at Illinois Bell telephone company where they both worked. In 1960, they moved to South Holland where they resided for 18 years where their three sons were raised. Throughout those years every summer a family vacation was taken traveling across the U.S. In 1978, a new house was built in Crete, IL where Marty still resides. Marty retired in 1985, where they both traveled and started enjoying their grandchildren and family. In 1988, a villa was bought in Kissimmee, Florida where six months out of the year they enjoyed playing golf, had annual passes to all the theme parks, took many Carribean cruises, and made many good friends. Having sold the villa in 2002 and enjoying life back in Crete, Jan got the casino itch and traveled to many casinos with Payless tours. Jan enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family get togethers where eveyone was encouraged to eat and then eat more. We would like to thank Hospice of Calumet and especially her nurse Christine who showed compassion, patience, and loving care until the end of her life. Jan will be remembered and missed by all, always.
