Janice C. Tuttle

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Catherine Tuttle, nee Meyer, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Born in East Chicago, IN, Janice was a loving wife to Dennis Tuttle, her high school sweetheart; devoted mother to Christine (Ryan) Barlo and Marcie (Jim) Ferguson. Cherished grandma of Jessica Barlo, Alexandria Barlo, Garrett Barlo, Jim Ferguson, Lucas Ferguson, and Andrew Ferguson; great-grandmother of Michael Maloney-Barlo.  Dear sister of the late Christine Johnson, Jim (Joanne) Meyer, and the late Jerry Meyer. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Meyer.

Janice was married to Dennis for 54 years, building a life filled with love, laughter, ups and downs, but always creating enduring memories. Janice’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with them creating memories playing video games, gardening, sewing or just taking a walk to the park. She loved playing music, reading, and watching General Hospital. Though she has left this earthly home, the seeds of kindness and love she planted will continue to bloom in the lives she touched. Janice’s warmth, kindness and devotion touched all who knew her.

Visitation Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.
