Jeannine Goldsmith

Jeannine Goldsmith, nee Lupe, age 90, of Crete formerly of Dolton IL, passed away peacefully Friday, June 9, 2023.  Loving wife of the late Harold H. Goldsmith.  Devoted mother of Shirley Johnson, Edward (Diane), the late Kevin (Becky),  Kathy (Sonny) Martine, Theresa Goldsmith, Robert (Georgia), Donald, James (Dina Jobbe), and David (Tracy) Goldsmith.  Proud grandmother of 22; great-grandmother of 21.  Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Winifred Lupe; siblings, Joseph (Laura) Lupe, John (Gail ) Lupe, James Lupe, and her best friend and partner in crime Sylvia Lieberman.  Special thanks to Kyle Goldsmith for his wonderful care and dedication to his grandma.

Visitation Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home James E. Janusz Director 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.  Visitation Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Directly at St. James Catholic Church 22400 Torrence Ave. Sauk Village, IL, with Rev. Mark Kalema officiating.  Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations of non-perishable food items for the benefit of St. James Catholic Church food pantry, St. Joseph soup kitchen, or Meals on Wheels, greatly appreciated.
