Joan B. Ipema

Joan Beth Ipema, nee Jongsma, age 74, of Beecher, IL entered into eternal glory on Monday, July 12, 2021, following several years of declining health.  Beloved wife of 56 years of Alvin Ipema.  Loving mother of Mark (Cindy) Ipema, Paul (Karin) Ipema, Caroline (Mike) Bultema, David (Patricia) Ipema, and Daniel (Kimberly) Ipema.  Grandmother of 17; great-grandmother of 7.  Dear sister of the late Ruth (late Ted) Beenes, late John (Sophie) Jongsma, and Marilyn (late Rich) Drenth.  Sister in-law of the late Henry (late Annamae) Ipema, Annette (late Peter) Kamp, late Harry (late Ann) Ipema, Bernice (late Jim) Schaver, Charlotte (Ron) Sol, Edward (Vicki) Ipema, and Ken (Joyce) Ipema.  Aunt to numerous nephews and nieces.  Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bertha Jongsma.  Joan was a member of the Lynwood United Reformed Church where she served as a church organist for many years.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lynwood United Reformed Church, 1990 Glenwood-Dyer Rd. Lynwood, IL.  Memorial service Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lynwood URC with Rev. Nick Alons officiating.  Private burial will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. at Skyline Memorial Park – Monee, IL with Rev. Paul Ipema officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Mid-America Reformed Seminary ( www.midamerica.edu ) or the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org )
