Joan Rose Kraus

Joan Rose Kraus nee Hartman, age 90, of Steger, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Kraus. Loving mother of Deborah (late Dennis) Rhodes and Kimberly (Jeffery) Smith. Cherished grandmother of Erik Rhodes, Jennifer Smith, and Christopher (Tiffany) Smith. Soon to be great-grandmother of twin boys. Dear sister of the late Donald (late Arlene) Hartman, and late Georgene (late Dennis) Johnstone. Preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Hartman and Rose Dierking. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation to be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Smits– Steger Memorial Chapel, 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois, 60475. Visitation Monday November 13, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 10:00 a.m.  directly at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 24 W 34th Place, Steger, IL with services conducted by Pastor Matt Dubensky.
