Joan B. Ristenpart

Joan Beverly Ristenpart nee Ritchie, age 91, of Steger, IL, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. Our beautiful mother went to be with the Lord following a short illness. She lived in Steger almost her entire life. She is preceded in death by husband Verdell Ristenpart, parents; Robert and Caroline Ritchie, siblings; Janice (Ray) Warburton, Rollin (Mary) Ritchie, Betty (Gaylin) Simmonds, and Juanita (Ronnie) Exo.

Joan is survived by four daughters; Carol (Patrick) McCulley, Dawn (Peter) Mitropoulos, Robbin (LeRoy) Jaworowski, and Beverly (Woodrow) Bloom. Nine grandchildren; Jay (Amy) Kvasnicka, Ryan (Katie) Kvasnicka, Yanni Mitropoulos, Alex Mitropoulos, Jason (Theresa) Jaworowski, Kristy (Tommy) Schnepf, Tabitha Bloom, Tyler (Jenny) Bloom, Summer Bloom, and thirteen great grandchildren that were the world to her.

She was an active member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Steger for 91 years. She was an active member of the Chicago Heights Park District Senior Club, Nifty over Fifty Club, Bunco Clubs, and the Uno Club of Chicago Heights. Joan was always on the go. She enjoyed being with family as much as possible. She was ready to join all her family in Heaven, and to be there to celebrate her husband’s birthday this Thanksgiving.  Joan was a blessing to all who knew her and will be missed by many. Fly high sweet mamma. We will see you again someday.

Funeral Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 12 W 34th Pl, Steger, IL Interment Skyline Memorial Park – Monee, IL.
