Joan M. Zega

Joan M. Zega, nee Wirtz, age 87, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Ronald J. Zega. Loving mother of Jean (Mike) Henry, Roberta (Peter) Mazeikas, James (Virginia) Zega, and Joe (Davina) Zega. Cherished grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 11. Dear sister of the late Ed (Jackie) Wirtz, James (Sharon) Wirtz, and Marion (Richard) Miller. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ann Wirtz. Joan was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Prayer service Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. from Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Lane), Dyer, IN, to St. Michael the Archangel Church – 1 W. Wilhelm Dr. Schererville, IN, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery – Alsip, IL.
