John Tony Funtall

John Tony Funtall, age 79, of Lansing, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Beloved husband of Deborah Funtall, nee Kolton. Loving father of Brandon Funtall, Melissa (Jason) Eberts, and Sarah (Matthew) Hays. Cherished grandfather of Nathanael, Michael, Abigail, Jude, Mae, and Elizabeth. Dear brother of Athena (late Matt) Carberry and the late Manuel (late Joyce) Funtall. Brother-in-law of David (Sonja) Kolton. Proud uncle of Christopher, Lisa, Argot, Jarrett, David, Kevin, and Christopher. Preceded in death by his parents George and Cinderella Funtall. John was a United States Army veteran. He was a clerk at the Veteran’s Administration office. John was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Visitation Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Funeral service Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with services conducted by Rev. Andy Nearpass. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.
