John C. Groenewold, age 70, of Crete IL passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020.  Beloved husband of Barbara Groenewold, nee DeYoung. Loving father of Timothy (Kim) Groenewold, Mark Groenewold, and Emily (Jon) Bakker. Proud grandfather of Jori, Elise, Tessa, Samuel, Kate, the late Jonah, Lacey, Libby, Sydney, and Tyler. Dear brother of Ann (late George) Bachur.  He was loved by his family and will be missed.  Visitation Tuesday,  February 25, 2020 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN.  Funeral service, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at First Christian Reformed Church, 16248 South Park Ave. South Holland, IL with services conducted by Rev.
