Devoted grandfather of Christian and Courtney. Dearest son of Phyllis and Joe Jackson. Dear brother of Bob (Beth) Kommers. Kind uncle of Adam and Ryan Kommers, and Kyle Nelson. Brother-in-law of Brenda Nelson and Phil Durham. Preceded in death by his father Robert Kommers. Visitation Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt. 30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN 46311. Funeral service Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Munster Christian Reformed Church (214 Ridge Road Munster, IN 46321) with Rev. Jeff Bulthuis officiating. Interment Chapel Lawn Memory Gardens - Schererville, IN. Mr. Kommers was a retired teacher for District 163 in Park Forest, IL.
