John J. Kozak, age 86, late of South Holland, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Beloved husband of 65 years of Jean M. Kozak. Loving father of Wayne (Janet) Kozak, and Cindy (Roy) Rick. Cherished grandfather of Brian and Kevin Kozak. Dear brother of Stan (late Irene) Kozak and the late Mary, Edward, Victoria, and Chester. Fond brother-in-law of Arthur. Kind uncle of many nieces, nephews, and godfather to several special people. Preceded in death by his parents Anna and Frank Kozak. Visitation Friday, December 28, 2012 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Prayer service Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt.6/159th St.) South Holland, IL to Our Lady of Knock Church (501 163rd St. Calumet City, IL 60409) for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery - Calumet City, IL. John enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, gardening and seeking out good deals at garage sales. John also enjoyed donating baby clothing to the Women''s Center at Our Lady of Knock Church. Above all else, John enjoyed spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Woman''s Center c/o Our Lady of Knock Church (501 163rd St. Calumet City, IL 60409) appreciated.
