John Van Ort Sr. age 79 of Steger,IL. formerly of Eminence, MO. passed away December 31, 2008. Beloved husband of Theresa Van Ort nee Loitz, loving father of Debra (Stephen) Charles, Diane Van Ort, John (Cynthia) Van Ort Jr. and Patrick Van Ort. Cherished grandfather Court, Tyler, Caitlin, Conner, and John III. Dear brother of Donna (Robert) Ives of Orland Park, IL. and Ruth (Jack) Brown of Florida. Visitation Saturday January 3, 2009 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Private Interment at Calvary Cemetery-Steger,IL. Monday January 5, 2009. Mr. Van Ort was a Korean War Marine Veteran, member of the VFW post 7222 of Summersville, MO., NRA member, and 1st Marine Association Member. He retired as an Operating Engineer with local 150.
