John "Ted" Postema

John Theodore “Ted” Postema, age 92, of Orland Park, IL, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. Beloved husband of Trenice Bulthuis Postema, nee Stienstra, and the late Sylvia Postema, nee Huizinga. Loving father of Larry (Brenda) Postema, late Randy Postema, Ken (Darlene) Bulthuis, Bill (Marcia) Bulthuis, Don (Rachel) Bulthuis, Jim (Doreen) Bulthuis, and Cheryl (Tom) Voss. Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Katie) Postema, Andrew (Erica) Postema, Renae (Jacob) Pausma, Amy (Dustin) Huckstep, Dawn (Dave) Fleischmann, Kayla (Jesse) Halliwell, Zach (Teigen) Bulthuis, Alexis (Ross) Van Der Noord, Cassie (Andrew) Baugh, Alex Bulthuis, Brad (Lauren) Bulthuis, Calvin Bulthuis, Jim (Michelle) Kooyenga, Dan (Melissa) Jongetjes, Mark (Allison) Van Weelden, Tom (Kelli) Voss, Amber (Aaron) Crider. Great-grandfather of 42 with two more on the way. Dear brother of the late Leonard (Dorothy) Postema and the late Cathy (Norm) Carlson. Brother-in-law of Grace (late Gary) Voogt, Jan (late Fred) Huizinga, Alan (Mary) Huizinga, and Harry (Mary) Huizinga. Preceded in death by his parents John and Winifred Postema.

Ted was a proud United States Army veteran. He worked for Park Press Printing for 50+ years. After retirement he volunteered at Bible League embossing names on bibles for graduates. He was deeply committed to his faith, serving as a deacon and longtime elder. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Trenice and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation with family and friends Monday, August 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Fellowship Church of South Holland, 600 W 162nd St, South Holland, IL with Rev. Richard Zekveld officiating. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery—Lansing, IL.
