John Frank Stachulak passed away on February 11, 2021 peacefully at his home in Steger, IL after a long battle with ALS.
He was the son of John and Jane Stachulak. He was born on April 21, 1961 in Roseland, IL. He grew up in Chicago Heights, IL and attended Bloom High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1979 and served through 1982. He was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He was a Specialist 4, in the 5 th Engineer Battalion. His civilian occupation for 34 years was a truck driver.
He was a devout Christian at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Steger, IL for over 30 years. He served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir.
He is survived by his Wife of 41 years, Mary (Barton) Stachulak. His children; Michelle Stachulak and John (Steve) Cano. His grandchildren; Sydney, Savanah, Amber, Ryan, and Madison. His siblings; Pam (Mike) Austin, Frank (Kim) Stachulak, Scott Stachulak, Sherry (Dave) Kolenda, and Terry (Angie) Barton.
He loved life and all the simple things in it. He was very humble and never took anything for granted. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for anyone. He befriended anyone he came across, he just loved to talk. He always showed kindness, compassion, and spread the word of God any chance he got. He will be missed by many. He made his mark in this world and everyone that knew him was truly blessed.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 15th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Smits - Steger Memorial, Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd Steger, IL. Visitation Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 9:45 a.m. directly at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 24 W 34th Pl, Steger, IL 60475.
