John R. Szamatowicz, age 74, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025. Beloved husband of Wendy Sue Szamatowicz, nee Jacobson. Loving father of Beth Szamatowicz and Scott (Patricia Theokas) Szamatowicz. Proud grandfather of Sloane. Dear brother of Martin (Michele) Szamatowicz, Annette (Steve) Sepiol, and Karen Ruiz. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Norma Szamatowicz. John was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Memorial visitation with family and friends to take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1:00—5:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN.
