John E. Szozda

John E. Szozda, age 78, of Dyer, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Beloved husband of Louise Szozda, nee Akins. Loving father of Sydney (fiancé Phil Smutko) Szozda. Dear brother of Jerry (Cheryl) Gettig. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews; and several cousins. Memorial Visitation Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Mr. Szozda was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of VFW Post 1563, and retired from Heckett Engineering after 50 years of dedicated service.
