John A. Trembczynski, age 58, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Loving husband of 32 years of Debra D. Trembczynski, nee Dykstra. Devoted father of John (Colleen) Triezenberg, Tyler Trembczynski, and Sara (Jorge) Trujillo. Cherished grandfather of Jaxon Triezenberg, Ander Trujillo, and Colin Misewicz. Dear brother-in-law of Cindy (Kyle) Lupo and son-in-law of Betty Dykstra and the late Stan Dykstra. Kind uncle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Trembczynski, and brother JR Trembczynski. John was a Navy Veteran having served his country proudly, he was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. When John graduated Lake Central High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He was assigned to the USS Tripoli. John was a Naval Boxer and a Radioman. When he was done serving, John became a Train Engineer in 1988. He worked for the Chicago Rail Link, but most of his career was at the Indiana Harbor Belt. John was President of U.T.U. Local 1381 for many years. John's passion was the gym and working out. He taught MMA and boxing classes. In 2000 John won the Chicagoland Tough Man Competition. He also competed in many Weightlifting Competitions. Johns favorite pastime (beside the gym) was spending time with his family and being on the beach in Treasure Island, Florida. Visitation Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN with Pastor Jason DeVries officiating.
