John H. Verdouw , age 79, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018. Beloved husband of Barbara Verdouw, nee Keyzer. Loving father of Kathleen (Paul) Ambrose, Timothy (Dawn) Verdouw, and James Verdouw. Proud grandfather of Jenna, Trissa, Micah, Ryan, Caleb, Gabriel, and Rowan. Dear brother of George Verdouw and Ronald (Estella) Verdouw. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Verdouw.

Visitation Monday, December 3, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Rev. Joel Zuidema officiating. Interment - German Methodist Cemetery in Cedar Lake, IN.

John served in the United States Navy Submarine Service during the Vietnam War. He was a retired manufacturing engineer from Johnson Controls in Milwaukee.
