John August Weiler

John August Weiler, age 82, of Chicago Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully August 27, 2026. Beloved husband of Janice Maas. Loving step-father of Stephen (Alja) Maas. Dear brother of the late Karen (late Jerome) Brill, Edward (late Cynthia) Weiler and the late Elayne (late William) Schmaedeke. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. John was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Ruth Weiler and his first wife Barbara Paul. John was a proud United States Army Veteran. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation to be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 3:00 until time of Service 6:30 p.m. at Smits - Steger Memorial Chapel 3045 Chicago Rd. Steger, Illinois. Interment to be held Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Homewood Memorial Gardens – Homewood, Illinois. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the South Suburban Humane Society.
