John Robert Witvoet

John Robert Witvoet, Born October 28, 1937.  Safe in the arms of his Savior and began to experience the joy of being in God’s eternal care on June 17, 2023.  Profoundly loved his family who deeply loved him in return.  Beloved husband, for 66 years, of Audrey J. Witvoet, nee DeMaar.  Loving father of Robert (Laurel, nee Clausing) Witvoet, Ronald (Patricia, nee Tiemens) Witvoet, and Jay (Jennifer, nee Spender) Witvoet.  Devoted grandfather of Bobbi (Aaron) Regnerus, John (Kristen) Witvoet, Richard (Lauren) Witvoet, Daniel (Tara) Witvoet, Amy (Rob) Westfall, Jessica (Andrew) Naughton, Jay (Aleah) Witvoet Jr., Janna (Colt) Molenaar, and Josiah (Laura) Witvoet.  Cherished great-grandfather of Jonah, Aaron, Andrew, James, Kyle Regnerus; Robert, Elaina, Case Witvoet; Levi, Violet, Autumn, Eden Witvoet; Brendon, Bradley, Aubrey Witvoet; Ryan and Shawn Westfall; Zoey and Charlotte Naughton; and Ellie Witvoet.  Dear brother of the Late Marcella (Alan) Winter and Bert (June) Witvoet.  Kind uncle to several nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Bert and Helen (nee Triezenberg) Witvoet.

John was a Real Estate broker in Northwest Indiana and South Suburban Illinois for many years.  He was a member of Gideons International, the South Holland Lions club, and Bethel Christian Reformed church.  John was president of the South Holland Little League for many years. He also had served as an Elder at the former Bethany Christian Reformed Church in South Holland.

Funeral Service, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  at Bethel Christian Reformed Church 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Road Lansing, IL, with Rev. Dan Bloesch officiating.  Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL.
