Joseph A. Renz

Joseph A. Renz, age 54, of Dyer, IN, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022.  Dear brother of Peter (Lori) and Paul.  Beloved uncle and godfather of Kara. Loving father figure of Nathan Scherer. Preceded in death by his parents Howard F. and Louise M. Renz.

Visitation Monday, January 17, 2022 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Joseph was an automotive technician for Bosak Motors in Merrillville. He was a retired police officer for various departments in the area including Dolton, St. John, and Manhattan and was currently serving in the role as President of the Dyer Police Commission.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation ( www.Parkinson.org ) or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation ( www.komen.org ) in honor of Howard and Louise.
