Joseph R. Zola

The family and friends of Joseph R. Zola are extremely saddened by his sudden passing on Oct. 21. Born on November 3,1987 to Jeffrey and Deborah; he grew up in the South suburbs of Chicago. He was a part of the football team, baseball team, drama arts, and JROTC at Bloom Trail High School.

In 2007 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his 9 years of service he was deployed to Iraq with Team 4. He married Chelsea in 2010 on Bliss Township Beach, MI. After his service, Joe establish a career with Consumers Energy. He found immense happiness with his two sons, Noah and Kristjan.

Joe had a large capacity for love and enjoyed laughter as well as making memories with friends and family. He was passionate about The Chicago Cubs, Da' Bears, The Chicago Blackhawks, and U of M football. Joe loves the outdoors and any opportunity he was afforded to hunt and fish. Joe's absence will be a void for everyone.

Visitation Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Smits, Steger Memorial Chapel – 3045 Chicago Rd, Steger, IL. Interment Wednesday, October 30, 2019 12:00 pm at Fernwood Cemetery – Roodhouse, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.
