Judith E. Gowan, nee Sommer, age 96, of Cedar Lake, IN, formerly of Dolton, IL passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Samuel A. Gowan. Loving mother of Marie (Robert) Lagestee, William Gowan, and Marlene (late Thomas) Grens. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Muriel Mumford and the late Sidney Sommer.

Visitation Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 P.M. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30 & Pleasant Springs Lane) Dyer, IN, with Rev. Andy Nearpass officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association .
