Julie E. Anderson, age 99, of Normal, IL formerly of St. John, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Anderson. Loving mother of Thomas (Barbara) Anderson, Larry (Marilyn) Anderson, and Debbie (Art) Victorson. Proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren: Becky Burkhart, Tom (Heather) Anderson, Nick (Desi) Anderson, Eric (Jill) Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Kristen (Tim) McFarland, Jake (Anna) Victorson and 10 great-grandchildren: Ben and Brady Burkhart, Julia and Jenna Anderson, Lauren (Tyler) Voss, Lindsey (fiancé Jake Firnsin) Anderson, Collin Anderson, Vano Anderson, Hampton Victorson, and Theodore McFarland. Dear sister of Diane Barick and the late Joyce Poth. Loving aunt to several special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father John Kolar, mother and step-father Hazel Kolar-Hebert and Alan Hebert and one granddaughter Tina Lynne Victorson.
Mom grew up on the family farm in New Buffalo, MI. Those were years mom would talk about often with great fondness including the hard work of daily chores. The ethics learned there benefited her in the move to city life in the Chicago area where she met her husband, Tom. Together for 73 years, they worked tirelessly creating a very successful Radio & Television business and raising the family they loved. Mom’s Faith, her role as grandma and great-grandma, homemaking and huge fan of the Cubs, laughter, strength, commitment, giftedness in cooking and baking, a love for music, entertainment and travel along with a sense of fashion and design are only a snippet of what made her so wonderful! Welcome Home, Mom!! We love you!
