Kathleen I. Brouwer, nee DeJong, age 91, of Munster, IN, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Beloved wife for 54 years of the late John W. Brouwer. Loving mother of Carol Den Besten, Diane (David) Swets, John (fiancée Kami KoKesh) Brouwer, and the late Janice Porter. Devoted grandmother of Robert (JoAnn) Den Besten, Keith (Angela) Den Besten, Kevin (Julie) Den Besten, Tricia (Keith) Derks, Michael (Emily) Swets, Kristen (Dave) Bruinius, Heather (Greg) Blocker, Cameron (Paige) Brouwer, Corinna (Nathan) Rarick, Candice (Travis) Huyser, Benjamin (Bethany) Porter, Joel Porter, Morgan (Hwan) Seo, and Chloe Porter; great grandmother of 33. Dear sister of the late Howard (Norma) DeJong, Elaine (late Robert) Duimstra, late Ted (Gwen) DeJong, late Evelyn (late Garrett) Musch, Phyllis (Jon) Huisman, Warren (Susan) DeJong, Marvin (late Sally) DeJong, late Dolores DeJong, and the late Cynthia (Paul) Wiltjer. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents William and Kate DeJong.

Visitation Friday, September 11, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Glen United Reformed Church, 2244 Indiana Ave. Lansing, IL with services conducted by Rev. Steve Oeverman. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL. 

Memorial contributions may be given to Illiana Christian High School, Crown Point Christian School, PET Mobility Project Foundation, Mid America Reformed Seminary, or Chicagoland Prison Outreach.
