Kenneth D. DeVries Sr., age 77, of Crete, IL, formerly of Dyer, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021.  Loving husband of Betsy DeVries, nee Willison and the late Kathryn M. DeVries, nee Davids.  Devoted father of Pamela (Bill) Palm, Ken (Jane) DeVries Jr., Kimberly (Brian) Kortum, Rev. Kevin (Cathy) DeVries, Randy (Jamie) DeVries, Jonathan (Candace) DeVries, Liz (Jeromy) Turturillo; step-father of James K. (Christine) Desler and Joan (Jared) Tyler.  Cherished grandfather of 28, and the late Laura Haitsma; great-grandfather of two.  Dear brother of Raymond (Helen) DeVries, Joseph (Joyce) DeVries, late Robert (late June) DeVries, and the late Betty (late Clarence) Rusthoven.  Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Zena DeVries Sr.  Ken will be dearly missed by his loving family and all who knew him.

Visitation Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.) Dyer, IN, with Rev. Kevin DeVries officiating.  Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery – Lansing, IL .
