Kenneth W. Rewers, age 75, of Beecher, IL, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021. Beloved husband of Frances Rewers, nee Faber. Loving father of Rebecca Hoffman and Roberta Rewers. Proud grandfather of Trevor and Justin Hoffman. Dear brother of the (late) Daniel (Sandra) Rewers and Edna Mae Rewers. Uncle of Dana (Kevin) Hillard, Brian (Betsy) Rewers, and Aleksandra (Kris) Johnson. Companion to his beloved Welsh Terrier Katie.

Memorial visitation and service Friday, January 15, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN. Memorial Mass Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. John Catholic Church, 301 S. Cottage Grove Ave., Glenwood, IL with Rev. William McFarlane officiating.  Mr. Rewers was a First Responder/hazardous devices technician for the Cook County Sheriff’s Police and a Police Bomb Appraisal Officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security at Midway Airport. He was a chief petty officer 2 ^nd class for the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He had a 50-year marriage that first started at a local horse stable. He loved to travel and was an active RVer, even driving his family – with guinea pig – to Alaska and back and traveled internationally. Frequently found warming bleachers cheering on his grandsons at various school events.
