Larry A. Broertjes

Larry A. Broertjes, age 67, of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.  Loving husband of Deb K. Broertjes, nee Goudzwaard.  Proud dad of Melissa (Brad) Vander Woude and Jason (Stefanie) Broertjes; step-father of Mike (Shawna) Hoekstra, Greg Hoekstra, and Jason (Erin) Hoekstra.  Fun grandpa of Matthew, Jon, Zack Vander Woude, Jeremy and Jackson Broertjes, Kaedin, Zoe, and Demetri, Rhea, and Leo Hoekstra.  Beloved son of Will and the late Dorothy Broertjes; son-in-law of Larry and Grace Goudzwaard.  Dear brother of Barb (Rick) Uittenbogaard, Joyce (Bradley) Dykstra, Bev (Earl) Nicodem, Dan (Carol) Goudzwaard, Bob (AnnMaree) Goudzwaard, Steve (Pam) Goudzwaard, and Tim (Ruth) Goudzwaard.  Kind nephew and uncle of many.

Visitation Monday, December 26, 2022 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane (Rt.30/Pleasant Springs Ln.), Dyer, IN.  Celebration of Life Service Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Spirit of God Fellowship Church, 16350 State St., South Holland, IL, with Pastor Brian Kamstra officiating.  Interment Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery – Monee, IL.
